Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was wonderful. Jason didn't have school on Wed. so we ran a bunch of errands and did a little shopping. Thursday we went up to my aunt Tami's house for thanksgiving with my mom's family. It was delicious and fun to see those that were there!!  That night we came and got Kassi and headed down to my mom's house where we stayed until Sunday.  We spent most of the rest of the weekend with Jason's family since his parents were there from Guatemala. It was so fun to see them for a little while and we were sad to send them back to Guatemala today but know they still have work to do! We will look forward to seeing them in 9 months!!! I did get some black friday shopping done with my mom and Jason but there wasn't anything we had to have this year so we went a little bit later after crowds had calmed down. It was great!
Saturday morning, we had a little scare.  Shandi decided she wanted to take her horse Kid for a ride to try out a new saddle. Well Adi wanted to get on so Jason put her on with Shandi. Kid was being a little jumpy all morning but we figured he'd be fine for a short ride around the house.  Well I was walking outside to come see them when my mom's dog Dixie ran over to me. Kid got spooked and darted to the side and took off. He would have been fine and pulled out of it but he went right in between the horse panels on the coral and a hay wagon and got even more scared. Shandi held on tight to Adi and they were both dumped off.  Jason and I both ran over to them and luckily they were both ok.  It scared Adi really bad and she cried for quite a while. Shandi landed on the horse panels and was pretty sore but that's all! They were definitely watched over and it could have been so bad!! I was really nervous that Adi would be super scared of horses but don't worry, she wanted to back out to them about an hour later and rode one again that afternoon and didn't want to get off!
That afternoon, we did the Christmas tree hunt with Jason's family. We were able to ride horses We didn't get tree this year because we didn't have a way to get it home so Melinda let us use her little fake tree. I sure miss the smell of the real thing but enjoy just having one!  On Sunday, Becca blessed little Ethan at their house since there has been lots of Whooping cough going around. Then Jason went and listened to his parents give their testimony while I took Adi to my mom's to sleep. We got home Sunday evening at about 10:00. It was a great weekend!!!  Here are some pictures along with some fun ones of Adi lately! She is so much fun!!!

Adi was running around the mall and would just suddenly stop and make this pose.  Jason says its her "sonic the hedgehog" and she's getting ready for take off!

The Election

Okay, so first off let me just say,  I  am SO glad the election is over and done with! I'm so tired of all the negative adds on TV and radio. But let me also say that wow, I never realized an election could bring out so many emotions in me. I've never really gotten into the election before and now I know why, but how could I not! It just felt like there was so much on the line and so little I could do about it except vote! And let's be honest, here in utah, your vote for president doesn't really matter because it was going to Romney anyways (Thank goodness!) Election night finally came, we went and voted and then came home to watch the results.  As I sat on the couch, I couldn't help but think how much this was going to affect my little Adi and the rest of our future children's futures! It really terrifies me! The results kept coming in and as the night progressed, it was obvious that President Obama would be re-elected. In my mind, this was like being punched in the gut and betrayed by our country. I know that sounds strong, but that's how I felt. I turned off the TV after it was announced that he had won and went and crawled into bed. I layed there and just cried. I know it sounds silly but all my emotion just came out that had built up about the election for the past months. This was our future, my future, our kids' future! How could this happen. What were people thinking? Well after finally falling asleep and waking up the next morning, I was still as onery as could be. I was scared, sad, exhausted etc. But yet, there was nothing I could do about the results. As I checked facebook I realized, I was not alone. But the thing I did notice was how people were handling it.  People's reactions were either to be negative and rude, sad and depressed, or had an attitude of moving forward, teaching your kids the correct principles, and living the gospel.  I realized that yes, the results of the election were not what i wanted, and yes, it may be a little scary to some. But, we live in a country where the people get to choose who they want and majority wins.   Now there is only one thing to do.... move forward! Live our lives correctly, do what is in our control and pray for what is out of our control! Although I don't like some of the things Obama stands for and does, I will support and pray for him so that he can make the right decisions for our country.  In a world where Marijuana is being legalized, the definition of Marriage is being changed, babies are allowed to be aborted, and so on and so on, I can do one thing.... move forward! This picture that was on facebook sums it up! Let's stop the negativity, unite together, raise our children right and move forward!!

Halloween

This year for Halloween we dressed up as the Flintstones. It's crazy how many of the younger generations didn't even know who the Flintstones were! My mom made our costumes for us the weekend before and did such a good job! Jason was Fred, I was Wilma, and of course Adi was Pebbles.

A few weeks before halloween, we took Adi to Gardner Village for family night.
Riding the pony! Just her size!

They have so many fun witches on display

We were also able to do some fun things with friends.
At the Pumpkin Patch. This is Taylor, Brielle, Miley and Adi. We went and picked out pumpkins (which we never got carved :( and then went through the corn maze. It was so much fun. We went with the Hansons, the Glenns, and the Neilsens.

We also went to a little halloween maze with Jared and Kelsey and Brielle. It was decorated so cute! Adi loved it!

Jason reading stories to the girlies!

That night (Oct. 17th, Adi took her first steps at Jared and Kelseys! I went up to the bathroom and Jared told Adi to take her first steps while I was gone.... and she did! She only took one but right then I walked down the stairs and she started walking! She didn't do it again for like 3 weeks despite our efforts! She still won't do it very often but occasionally she'll stand up by herself in the middle of the room and take 3 or 4 steps.  She's so silly. She can stand up, squat down and stand back up several times in a row but taking steps is so scary for her! :) This video was at the end when she was getting tired so the first steps and the last ones are the best.

Jason in his Fred costume!
This is at the med school Halloween party on Monday before halloween. We showed up and totally unplanned, Gary and Jasha were dressed as Barney and Betty with camdon as Bam Bam. Funny!

We love friends! From left to right.... Taylor, Miley, Brielle, Adi, Hazel, Bailey

On Halloween night, we went over the the Glenns and took the girlies to a few houses in their neighborhood to trick or treat!
The girls knocking on the door for candy! It was such a fun halloween!
We are so grateful for good friends!! They definitely make med school a little easier!

Family Pictures

Last month we had some family pictures taken by Brandon Burke. He is one of Jason's old mission companions. He did such a great job!!  Here are a few pictures!
